ROBERT E. MOORE Artist & Steward of Tenacious Reclamation

THE MISSION Throughout my life, the guiding principle has been to seek clarity. That dedication has culminated in a realized philosophy: an artistic practice that transforms discarded objects and fleeting moments into Living Artifacts. My work is the ultimate expression of this journey—proof that a life defined by hardship and profound observation can be reclaimed.

I. THE FOUNDATIONS (Roots & Discipline) Born and raised in Rabun County, Georgia, my earliest understanding of value came directly from the land—the abundance of wildlife, the crisp water from the granite mountains, and the legacy of my family. This background taught me that value is not about extravagance; it is about the integrity of the process. Cultural tradition and work ethic led me to leave school at sixteen and enter military service at eighteen, becoming a member of the U.S. Army Infantry. The Army provided the discipline I needed to excel, reinforcing the lesson that a strong foundation is everything.

II. THE FIRST RECLAMATION (The Industrial Witness) After retiring from military service, I continued my search for clarity through education, eventually obtaining a Master’s Degree. During this time, I observed the overlaps in management systems—specifically the attempt to govern chaos. Finding the greatest satisfaction in autonomy, I spent years managing the collision between industry and environment. I witnessed the tension between human industry and nature's resilience, choosing to repurpose discarded materials rather than contribute to the waste. This was the birth of Tenacious Reclamation: seeing waste not as debris, but as scars waiting to be interpreted into meaningful art.

III. THE FINAL TRANSFORMATION (Art as Philosophy) At the age of 54, I recognized that the work was not in fighting the landscape, but in translating it. I realized that my life was an artistic expression—a canvas of continued resilience. I create artifacts from objects found in nature—specifically, the Chattahoochee River Valley. Through observation, interpretation, and philosophical concepts, these vessels are prepared for a legacy as a Vital Living Artifact, ready to be incorporated into a steward's life story.
